President’s Report:
Chalk, Sandy, Meredith, and myself met with FOP representatives and OML representatives to discuss the recreation of the PERB or some sort of mechanism to process certification votes and process unfair labor practices. The PFFO legal counsel and FOP legal counsel are working at each organizations direction to come up with two or three options that we believe are fair workable solutions and we will present those to the OML in hopes that we can go into next Legislative session with an agreed to compromise.
I have been busy working on putting together an agenda for the upcoming 2018 PFFO convention, working to get everything finalized on the education opportunities as well as other speakers we will have present. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed, I am hopeful there will be a noticeable difference.
We are currently working on finding a bank or financial institution to open the “rainy day” fund that the board has approved new policies for.
I worked on a few more list of arbitrators to strike for grievances and interest arbitrations, seems that arbitrations or at least the possibility of arbitrations is picking up. The arbitration scheduled for November 2nd in Chickasha for which I was the advocate was settled prior to the hearing.
I was contacted by OPEIU about negotiating new terms for the collective bargaining agreement for the office staff. We have not set a date to meet at this point.
Security cameras around the building have been installed and are monitored by our alarm service provider.
Wrote a grievance for Guthrie regarding evaluations of employees and management making changes after the evaluations had been submitted and without employees knowledge.
